Drill and Fill Insulation Virginia

Drill and Fill Insulation Services in Virginia

It’s common throughout most homes that insulation can be lacking in the wall voids. If your insulation is low in your home’s walls this can cause your energy cost to increase and even cause excessive wear and tear on your HVAC systems.

Vance Insulation specializes in Drill and Fill Insulation services to remedy this. We install blown-in insulation in the wall voids by cutting a small incision on the wall, and then we will blow the insulation till the void is filled. This process is extremely effective when dealing with pipes, cables, and typical gaps found in the original construction. It can even provide an additional layer of sound control for the areas where the insulation was originally missing.

Should I add more insulation to my home?

There are conditions in which you should NOT hire for retrofit insulation in Virginia.

First, existing moisture problems and mold should be treated before adding insulation to your home to avoid increased moisture and mold problems.

Second, if you have insufficient ventilation in your crawlspace or attic due to excessive insulation it can cause more damage to your home and you’ll end up with more problems than you intended.

Finally, over-insulating your home does not provide additional benefits and can in fact create mold problems that didn’t exist before.

How is the process completed?

There are a few ways in which we perform home retrofitting with insulation.  If it’s in a wall, we carefully drill 4” holes near the top of your wall in between each set of studs, large enough to fit our insulation hose through.  Then, we fill the wall with fiberglass blown insulation to the top.  Finally, we repair the hole with tape, texture, and paint over the hole to match the current paint on the wall as closely as possible.  In an attic, we will either add insulation or replace damaged insulation depending on which is required.  Either way, when it comes to retrofitting services, we’ve got you covered.  Contact Vance Insulation today for a free estimate.
